Lettera J
recencereCiao, sono Moloch981 dalla Wikipedia italiana. Spero che comprendiate un messaggio in italiano. La voce Perfidi giudei, sulla Wikipedia italiana, è stata spostata a Perfidis Judaeis (vedi qui]). A me pare di ricordare che il latino non abbia la lettera J e quindi il nuovo titolo dovrebbe essere Perfidis Iudaeis... confermate o mi sbaglio io? Grazie. (Risposte anche qui). --87.10.192.15 12:08, 7 Septembris 2006 (UTC)
- Gratiam ago tibi ad consilium ... well, we have no fixed policy yet, if we cast away J letter, as Special:Allpages suggested. Personally I prefer to use J in the beginning of words, but it seems not the way our biggest sister Wikipedia has chosen, and not the way the antique Roman did. I don't oppose you expel J letters from this project, but personally I would like to wait until our community grows much more .... --Aphaea 17:19, 10 Aprilis 2007 (UTC)
Three meals from anarchy
recencereI am trying to find an origin of the paraphrased quote:
- Civilization/society is never more than three meals away from anarchy.
Someone at English Wikiquote asked about it, and my initial research turned up a suggestion that it dates from Roman times. Quia scio ego circiter zeroticam Latinam ☺, I am hoping that someone here might either know a Roman source of this idea, or at least be able to provide properly inflected search terms to allow a Latin-ignorant Google search to pick up promising possibilities. Any ideas? Thanks. ~ Jeff Q 17:43, 4 Octobris 2007 (UTC)
Salve!
Please use this page to discuss Vicilibri Latina, as well as just to have general discussion.
Questions
recencereOn this project, would it be possible to write original fiction or poetry that I would like to share or have edited by other Latin Litterates?
Also, I think one great use of time and effort would be to create a latin language grammar and primer for another language such as English, French, or probably even more useful, Greek.
Betawiki: better support for your language in MediaWiki
recencereDear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here to use your language in the interface, but if you would log in to for example the Japanese language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. In fact, of over 1,700 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 1030 messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages for well over 100 extensions, with over 1,550 messages. Translators for over 70 languages contribute their work to MediaWiki this way every month.
If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator privileges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on MediaWiki.org and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.
If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible, for example by importing all messages from a local wiki for you to start with, if you so desire.
You can also find us on the Freenode IRC network in the channel #mediawiki-i18n where we would be happy to help you get started.
Thank you very much for your attention and I do hope to see some of you on Betawiki soon! Cheers! Siebrand@Betawiki 16:44, 13 Decembris 2007 (UTC)
